Medical Negligence

Medical Negligence: verdict of $10,125,000 on behalf of young woman in which a tumor was not diagnosed as a result of a misread report.

Medical Negligence: Settled just before trial for $3,200.000 against the hospital and surgical team. The case involved a wrong-site surgery case where surgeons performed a spinal procedure at the incorrect level. The error caused permanent nerve damage, requiring extensive rehabilitation and lifelong pain management.

Medical Negligence: A jury awarded a verdict of $4,100,000 for a wrong-site surgery involving a knee operation performed on the wrong leg. The patient was left with ongoing mobility limitations, underwent multiple corrective surgeries, and faced permanent impairment.

Medical Negligence: Settlement of $5,400,000 where surgeons fused the incorrect vertebrae. As a result of the surgery on the wrong-site the patient needed a second spinal fusion, suffered worsening pain, and lost earning capacity.

Medical Negligence case in Lee County where a portion of a surgical instrument during an exploratory abdominal surgery was left inside the body. The patient suffered for over 6 months with severe abdominal pain, requiring multiple visits to the ER and eventual surgery that discovered a portion of the surgical instrument in another part of the body. The case settled before trial against the hospital and physician for over $1,500,000.

Medical Negligence a settlement of $750,000 due to a surgical sponge left inside the body during bowel surgery. The case was brought against the hospital and the surgeon.

Medical Negligence a settlement of $900,000 against the surgeon as a result of the tip of a scalpel breaking off during shoulder surgery and never removed. The patient developed terrible pain and limited motion, requiring multiple surgeries to remove the metal piece and the damaged tissue.

Medical Negligence in Broward County settled for $840,000 after a patient underwent a laparoscopic appendectomy and experienced ongoing pelvic pain and recurrent infections. A small piece of surgical tubing was discovered months later during imaging for unexplained symptoms.

Medical Negligence in Palm Beach County resolved for $950,000 after a patient continued to experience fevers and chest discomfort months after heart bypass surgery. A portion of a surgical sponge had been left in the chest cavity, causing inflammation and infection.

Medical Negligence case in Miami-Dade County was filed following a cesarean section where the patient suffered from persistent abdominal pain and fever for several weeks. Imaging revealed a retained surgical sponge near the uterus. The patient required hospitalization and a second operation to remove the sponge. The case was settled before trial for $1,110,000 against both the hospital and the delivering physician.

Medical Negligence case a settlement of $1,125,000 after a patient developed chronic leg pain and swelling following orthopedic surgery for a broken tibia. Imaging revealed that a fractured screw had been left embedded in soft tissue. The patient needed a revision procedure and extensive physical therapy. The lawsuit was brought against the orthopedic surgeon and the surgical center.

Sexual Abuse: a settlement for several survivors of sexual abuse by the supervisor of the Police Explorer Program. The perpetrator is surviving a life sentence and the survivors received over $1,500,000 collectively.

Sexual Abuse: a verdict of $5,200,000 for the victim of sexual abuse. The verdict was against the perpetrator who was a family member and his company. The perpetrator is presently incarcerated.

Sexual Assault: a verdict of $1,250,000 for the victim of sexual assault. The victim was attacked by her immediate supervisor in his office. The verdict was against a hotel chain for their negligence. The perpetrator is presently incarcerated.

Sexual Abuse: a confidential settlement of $1,500,000 for the minor victim of sexual abuse by a deacon at her church. The settlement is confidential. The perpetrator is presently incarcerated.

Sexual Abuse: a confidential settlement of $825,000 for the victim of sexual abuse by a staff member of a cruise ship.

Nursing Home Neglect: a settlement of $850,000 on behalf of the survivor of an elderly relative who was mistreated.

Slip and Fall on Cruise Deck: $750,000 settlement for a woman who slipped on a wet, unmarked area of the pool deck aboard a Caribbean cruise. The ship failed to provide proper signage or promptly dry the surface. The plaintiff suffered a fractured hip with surgery and subsequent complications.

 

Car Lease Buyout
