Florida The Worst State for Pedestrian Safety

An article earlier this year in the Miami Herald outlined just how dangerous it is for pedestrians in Florida.

Per the article, “nine of the 20 deadliest U.S. cities for pedestrians are in Florida, with Orlando ranked as least safe and the Miami-Fort Lauderdale – West Palm Beach metropolis ranked No. 14 in the 2019 “Dangerous By Design” report from Smart Growth America and the National Complete Streets Coalition.

That means your chance of being struck by a vehicle while walking (and dying from your injuries) is higher here than elsewhere across the country. It also means the chances of you being injured (without dying) is pretty high too.

At Baron, Herskowitz, and Cohen, we work with victims who have been hit by cars, trucks and other vehicles while walking the streets of Miami and other cities across Florida. We also work with bike accident victims, many of whom are injured by driver negligence.
